You can’t shoot with riot shield out
There were few important interviews of Infinity Ward last week in Los Angeles at the Modern Warfare 2 event. Some more information has been detailed on the game’s multiplayer. Items such as the riot shield were more talked about and assurances about martyrdom were also given by Infinity Ward.
In fact one of the most visible additions to the game’s multiplayer is the riot shield and it allows the players to completely block enemy fire. A good reason has been given by Infinity Ward behind this item and it has been also assured that it won’t break the game.
Todd Alderman, the multiplayer design lead said, “There is even something in there for people that can’t shoot…You get the riot shield and your job is to help your team.”
Fans of Modern Warfare 2 are worried about the riot shield that it may unbalance the game.
Infinity Ward says that the shield will only act as a primary weapon. With it players will be able to hold it with pistols. To it Alderman said, “So when you have the riot shield out, you can’t shoot. All you are doing is blocking.”
Well, there has been no word found in the interview on how this might be affected by a return of the overkill perk from CoD4 that allow the players to carry two primary weapons at once.

we knew this ages ago! An theres no such thing as over kill in the new game instead there are just two differnt types of class primary secondry and then pistol. So players could have riot shield and a silenced shot gun plus a deasert eagle. I personaly dont give a shit ima flash bang the shit out of em run an stab em in the back.
could be useful in S&D, protecting the bomb defuser perhaps

Even if it’s in MW2, overkill never let you hold two primary weapons at the same time. I.e., there is no weapon+shield loophole, because the shield = a primary weapon.

overkill and riot sheild culd be in the same perk selection so u can only have one or the other :p and i herd theres a perk wher u climb trees

LOL its useless if you see anybody useing the riot shield you will notice they have a score of 0. loli have been playing alot today and seen 1 person with a riot shield. not to mention they dont allow u to use a pistol. how lame is that, your just a huge meat shield. bullets do break threw the shield so your useless. because you cant shoot a pistol the enemy ignores u removing your tactical advantage completely.
it isnt useless at all, its great in a tight corridor, or if you are covering somewhere, thats still possible with a MP and having the shield on your back means its a lot less likely you wont notice being ambushed, since the enemys bullets will bounce off your back if you angle yourself right, then you can just turn round and waste them …
the only thing you can do with a riot is defending urself and others and ramming enemies, but it takes an hour to kill them with it. it aint gonna be a noob weapon i think but useful in team gamemodes

PLEASE PUT THE RIOT SHEILD IN COD MW3 IT KICKS ASS WITH A SHOTGUN OR DUAL PISTOLSINCE YOU CAN JUST RUN UP TO THEM IF THEY’RE SHOOTING AND BASH AND SLASH TILL THEY DIE IT ALSO IS GOOS FOR PROTECTING TEAMMATED IN CAPTURE THE FLAG AND DOMINATION SINCE COD BO MELEE HAS GONE DOWNHILL WIT THE BALLISTIC KNIFE TREYFUCKINGARCH SHOULD HAVE JUST KEPT THE TAC KNIFE BUT NO COMMANDO OR KEPT THE RIOT SHEILD BUT MADE IT NOT AS RESISTANT INSTEAD OF GIVING US A ONE SHOT WEAPON WITH NO WAY OF PROTECTING OURSELF FROM BEING MOWED DOWN AT RANGE BY ASSAULT RIFLES OR DESTORYED BY SHOTGUNSIF WE MISS THE SHOT
