A monumental marketing support is being prepared for Infinity Ward’s upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 2. Activision recently disclosed to the media that the team has a firm believe that the Infinity Ward’s upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 2 will be the best-selling videogame in the history of gaming industry.
Simon Wells, brand manager of Activision in a piece over at MCV said that the company wants to “propel this year’s title to be the biggest selling video game of all time.”
Modern Warfare 2 is due for release in November this year, and it is learned that it will be backed by intense marketing support. Simon Wells also added, “We firmly believe we have the potential to be the No.1 entertainment property of the year.”
He also said that the truth for a franchise as large as Call of Duty is that Activision is competing directly with entertainment propositions outside of the video game space and Activision is confident that this title will outsell Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and also Call of Duty: World at War. Them’s bold words indeed. Meanwhile it is also said that Modern Warfare 2 can compete with popular TV, DVD and music brands of the world.
