No beta for public, but can hope for it
Rumor is there that Modern Warfare 2 is going to get a public beta. Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward puts a check on this rumor. He says that they will be doing an internal beta, but if they feel for a public beta then they will explore that route also.
Bowling said that they will not say something as definitive as ‘No Beta Ever!’ He added that as of now all the fans and gamers have to wait till November 10. He further mentioned, “Unless of course you happen to be 50 Cent, Will Arnett, Dane Cook, or any other celebrity that wants to stop by.”
According to Bowling, “Once the internal beta is completed, if for any reason we feel we didn’t receive the feedback, address the issues, or have the result we expect…we would consider pushing forward with a public one, however at this point only an internal Closed Beta is planned.”
Long story. But we can still keep an expectation that before November 10 we may (only may) get to play Modern Warfare 2. Well, put down your views here whether you all really want a beta version of the game.
Damn, we should be apart of beta testing. we are going to be paying enough for the game!
Beta testing will allow IW to see any issues before 10/11 Maybe eliminating the need for so many early patches!!

If they dont open public testing, they may not find all the holes that they may have accedentally left. Because every one knows that if you open the beta to the public they will do their best to ruin it by glitches.

fourzerotwo has just confirmed a perk called Akimbo. it will be usable in multiplayer and it can be used in combination with the riot sheild. the sheild will probably in the first per slot while akimbo will most likley be in the third perk slot. also he confirmed that modded controlers will not be usable in modern warfare 2!!!!!

I think there should be a beta version available for this game. You wont really know how the game is going to work on a large scale unless you let a large amount of people play it before it comes out. You might end up saving a lot of money fixing glitches before the release date.
I believe their should be a beta version. Most of the people who play the game aren’t famous, but they supply the company with the funds they so desire. I highly doubt 50-cent is just giving large sums of money away for a copy of a game while millions of average people fork over their cash to only put themselves at risk of buying something unsophisticated, or of low quality. They would most likely be given more accurate feedback if they allow a wider, and the most common players of these types of games to examine them.
Most definitely want a beta…that was my buying point for cod 4. Once i got the game, my friends would come over and play. About 6 of them ended up buying xbox 360 and call of duty just to play the game.
they should definantly allow beta to EVERYONE, its the #1 way to make sure this game is completely bug free before its released.. there will be hundreds of thousands of people playing the beta if they release it, all of them reporting bugs they find and IW fixing them before the november deadline, very simple to do and saves alot of money to pay for debuggers
