First details of MW2 emerged
After the 10 seconds gameplay footage of Modern Warfare 2, the first hard details about it have emerged. The information of this sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been leaked in one of the leading gaming magazine.

According to it, Modern Warfare 2 will be set several years after its predecessor. In the game, again the political instability inside a fictional near-future Russia threatens the world. The thread now will be in the form of a terrorist organization. One of the two heroes of the game, Sergeant “Soap” MacTavish, has been promoted to captain in the Special Air Services (SAS), Britain’s equivalent of the US Navy SEALs. This MacTavis, being part of a new commando unit, will be guiding the players through a series of grueling missions that also includes an ice-climbing infiltration of a frozen Russian army base.
Modern Warfare 2 will also address the issue of infinitely spawning enemies. It also boasts new “Special Forces” mode, which is very similar to the Mile High Club and the airplane-hijack level. Moreover, the hope of many, the cooperative campaign is MIA in Modern Warfare 2.
also in the trailer the guy getting flipped has an AUG, the snowmobile guy has what looks like some sort of glock and the guy in the heli looks to have an mk14. all of this was found on infinityward.com
NO CAMPAIGN! ARE U KIDDING? does he mean its not going to happen, or it appears that way…

also i found this, a bit longer however…
The first details have found their way into the net now found and suggest that the story of the Infinity Ward-production to the events of its predecessor linked. John “Soap” McTavish and his comrades hunting a group of Russian terrorists. Their boss is an old acquaintance Sakajews which in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare drove his mischief.
Some of the new features: shields, as the police sometimes use, mobile guns, and the possibility of the arms a little tinkering. The shooter is still pretty linear – with major changes in view of the success of CoD 4 is not expected – but should still be slightly open. Also we wanted the concept of the infinite into the game thinking about gespawnten enemies.
On the technical side wants MW 2 with 60 frames per second and a higher level of detail than the previous part to impress. If you like, together with friends to battle moves should look at three little disappointed – as opposed to the campaign produced by Treyarch Call of Duty: World at War, the story missions of the latest offshoot Solisten reserved. However, it seems a few co-op jobs in the so-called Special Force Mode type.
For the multiplayer mode, Infinity Ward promises a live-patch system, which is separately downloadable updates to be superfluous. Just in case anyone is wondering about my source for this someone posted it on the Live feed at fourzerotwo and here it is
Hey, I prefer to call my self a sniper. I rarely sit and snipe i love quick scoping ( shooting the second the scope comes up ) and no scoping ( not using the scope ). Many people prefer the m40A1 as it has a ton of power and accuracy. Sniping usually comes natural to most people. You either can do it or you suck…. badly. And theres nothing worse than a sniper in SnD. So please don’t do it. Please.
Hopefully, in MW2 they will have a silenced, bolt action barret 50. Cal. Can’t actually wait. It’s is going to be one of the best games of the year, Possibly ever imo

the Special Air Services (SAS), Britain’s equivalent of the US Navy SEALs
Actually I always thought it was Delta Force which was the US equivalent of the SAS and the SEALs were the equivalent of the SBS
So we finally get to see what Soap looks like! Can’t wait!
Are you taking the piss mate? how can you compair anything you Yanks call special forces with the SAS????? No one will ever come close.
And Navy Seals (Gays) are the shittier and less professional version of the British SBS!!! Get your facts right Fella
Hey Ceej, take a chill pill! What I said is technically true, I never said that they were as good as or better than the british equivalent, and for the record, i’m a brit and have a great interest in the special forces and would always agree that ours are the best trained and most professional of the worlds special forces.
navy seals are in fact equivalent to SBS and delta force is like SAS, it’s the closest comparison that can be made but we can’t know who’s better
Ceej relax, we don’t know who is better, you shouldn’t diss any military group out of the blue man, David wasn’t even judging he was actually correcting the author of the article
chill out man, i can’t believe you’re getting that worked up
Special Forces are the elite for every flag they represent. I root for the SAS as much as I do for Delta and the SEAL teams. No need to get snippy Ceej!
Just to sort things out. Navy SEALs are as much equivalent to SAS as they are to Delta Force. SEAL is just an abbreviation for Sea, Air and Land.
The SBS(Special Boat Service) only works with one arena.
great stuff !
THANKS FOR THIS SITE ! GREAT JOB !
The Royal Navy’s Special Boat Service (SBS) is the lesser-known sister unit of the British Army’s Special Air Service (SAS) regiment. Based in Poole, Dorset, the SBS is a special forces unit which specialises in special operations at sea, along coastlines and on river networks. The SBS also have a team on standby for maritime counter-terrorism (MCT) operations. Whilst the unit specialises in water-borne activities, they are also highly skilled on dry land. Recent operations have taken place in the mountains of land-locked Afghanistan and deep in the deserts of Iraq.
one arena my arse
@FPS Red
FPS Red – Your an idiot. Silenced 50 cal? If we’re going realistic it should be louder with a bigger kick. Why don’t you jsut ask for green lantern powers and so you can “quick scope” your “silenced 50 cal” while you fly over the map and reload the guns with your magical ring. Tard.
oh I do love reading these posts. Maybe Activision should bring out a spinoff game for the noobs and tards out there, perks like having a Double Barrett whilst spitting fire from players lips, coupled with invisibilty and an invincibility cloak and perks that renders all opposition dead once they enter your field of view
Too funny. Throw in a magic ivory horn in the shape of a phallus, that when blown upon confers infinite respawns to the Tard Regiment…
navy seals dont even compeare with the sas navy seals just some red nake yanks with guns sas are pros at there job and always will be
im american and I think british sas are bad ass’s! I love yalls military. Glad we are allies
SAS n SBS are bunch of BS…dont compare boys to MEN u ignorant fukk.Special Forces,Delta Force and Navy Seals are the best at what they do n what millitary has to offer.Too much television for u idiots…..sign up with Uncle Sam n youll find out for urself!
USNOB684, it seems that YOU are the ignorant one, over here we have a term for your kind, window licker
ok, wow are you a retard? i dont think so. you sound like a brainwashed ditz.. they are men for fighting for they’re country…what would make the US Forces more men then the British Forces? nothing. they are soldiers. end of story. they are the “best” at what they do because they are all they’re own specialized force. each group british, and us…
television means squat..i havent seen anything about this at all on it….and the only thing you’ll find out by signing up is how oblivious society is to war.
ok, are you retarded? no i think not…you sound like a brainwashed ditz…they are all men. they risk their lives for their country whether it be US or Britain. i will compare them. they are specialized fighting forces.. they…ah whats the use arguing…people like you dont get it.
funny thing is…none of this, no reality will have on an impact on your idiocracy.
SAS n SBS wont stand a chance against American special forces and elite team.fukk u……fukk u……fukk u…im out!
A tard of the highest calibre is USNOB684, if there was a special forces in witless moronity he’d be the top guy in them, you’re a credit to your nation
The SAS isnt the equivalent to the US navy seals, The US navy seals is water operations, therefore the equivalent would be the SBS (Special Boat Service.)
@David
Yeah the SBS do exactly the training as the SAS, only they do a little bit more afterwards making it harder. Most people that fail the SBS part just join the SAS.
Navy SEALS:
SEa Air & Land is wat it stands for u wanker!
@USO684
look let’s not get all excited about this, it’s starting to get a bit irksome. SAS or SBS, which unit would the SEALS be more equivalent of? I still say SBS and as stated before they are not just limited to seaborne activities. You’re still a nob though
Hate to burst you bubble but in COD4 there was a picture with “Soap” in it. It was after the Mile High Club it shows you the team and the one guy is Soap
If war breaks out between our country who do you think is going rise and dominate……..thats what I thought so go eat some kak stupid foreigner.
Well that’s as likely as an american being aware of what goes on outside it’s borders, nob
Oh of course we try to keep A-holes like u from entering the U.S prick.We are there when a country is in need of help.We have the manpower and technology to take care of business.Maybe when your dumbass gets invaded feel free to call…1-800-EAT-SHIT
It’s been tried before before but we prevailed and when we asked for help there was no answer from you guys, typical yanks, waiting to see who comes out on top and we held out and then you decide to join the party and claim it was all down to you guys. Every one loves uncle sam. I would also like to point out that wars that our countries have participated in together have resulted in us being victorious together, you’ll notice we weren’t with you in Vietnam, nob
holyshit soap has been 10 times promoted 0.o
uso684 you are a twat, dont matter who is better the sas sbs seals or delta were on the same side and all those guys deserve the credit that they dont get. and for the record america wont need to fight anyone soon because you lot are tearing your country apart all by yourselves which is a shame because there are some decent americans, that dont include you tho
Actually, most people here are confused. Delta does not exist anymore. They are now called the Combat Applications Group (CAG). Furthermore, they are a tier 1 special operations group. The Navy SEALs also have a tier 1 team, DEVGRU (formerly known as SEAL TEAM 6). There are other tier 1 groups as well in both the military and in the civil service sector.
Stop comparing during countries’ special operations communities, because they are all THE BEST.
So pretty much what knowledge is saying is that if you were to compare the SAS to an American equivalent that unit would be the Combat Applications Group otherwise known as Delta. If it is the SBS it would be Development Group DEVGRU otherwise known as SEAL team six. For those of you who dont know, DEVGRU recruits from the absolute best of the best from the Teams. DEVGRU Delta SAS and SBS all work TOGETHER… I suggest you all learn from their example and stop getting in a pissing match.
@Ceej
CEEJ. The Navy SEALs are THE most proffesional military unit in the world… they are some of THE most talented fighters, along with a shit load of modesty.. these guys dont go around boasting theyre bravery and talent.. read “The Sheriff of Ramadi” by: Dick Couch. Its about the SEALs in Iraq.. this book is amazing it makes you feel like your there with them.. but however the SEALs worked with the marines and the Army.. under there command.. unlike teams such as the Army Rangers and Green Berrets who take control of everything and focus on there own thing and pretty much just act like snobs… One of the Army Soldiers even says this.. he says “the seals are some of the most talented guys ive worked with.. they have tons of skill in combat, and they prove it without running there mouths… In my opinion the SEALs are the most elite unit in the World.. they have amazing combat skills.. amazing training.. tons of modesty.. tons of respect for other forces.. Everyone in the Military is a brother to them… and I hope to become a SEAL.
Look… SBS, SAS, Delta Force, Army Rangers, Navy SEALs.. they are all equivelant.. they all fight for there country with large amounts of skill… Personally i believe the SEALs are the most elite… the SAS are pretty close though…
Anyone who argues about which SF are the best are…disinformed, these guys work together with no aggro or competition, thats left back with all the other trivias of battallion life, they’re above that, they are NOT super human, just very well trained. In EVERYTHING. each man a specialist in a different field. You cant put a tag on them, SF is a constantly changing entity. The reason they are so respectful of ‘lesser’ soldiers is because they know that infantry soldiers training is minimal yet they never waver in the face of the enemy. The fact you are all fighting in a game website about it is weird.
Ok ok ok david and his r correct Seal do da same as SAS as they also do maritime insertions and such Delta doesnt exist and i american and i personally believe we are da same compared and anyways don’t forget things like task force 141 do exist and Rainbow Six which do exist which are better than all of de above since they croostrain with everything despite the race between da US and UK we r equally matched since we have more men and firepower britain has men firepower and better thinking, no offense
plus GSG-9 might own us all or zombies
Look im an american, wait b4 u think im going to bash the sas look at wat britian and america did on the western front of europe, with Patton and Monty together we totally kicked ass!! we drove almost into berlin but ended up letting those communist dogs get a hold of it and look wat happened(occupation of berlin)if we together took berlin it would have been a peaceful country instead of being occupied by the russians. just U.S. plus U.K.=one hell of an ass kickin’!!!!!! Semper Fi! Who dares wins!
Captain Samuel Nicholas formed two battalions of Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia as naval infantry.[7] Since then, the mission of Marine Corps has evolved with changing military doctrine and American foreign policy. The Marine Corps served in every American armed conflict and attained prominence in the 20th century when its theories and practices of amphibious warfare proved prescient and ultimately formed the cornerstone of the Pacific campaign of World War II.[8] By the mid-20th century, the Marine Corps had become the dominant theorist and practitioner of amphibious warfare.[9][10][11] Its ability to respond rapidly to regional crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy.[12]
The Special Air Service (SAS) is a special forces regiment within the British Army which has served as a model for the special forces of other countries.[2][3] The SAS forms a significant section of United Kingdom Special Forces alongside the Special Boat Service (SBS), Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), and the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG). The SAS gained fame and recognition world wide after the Iranian Embassy Storming (or Operation Nimrod) in 1980 which was one of the first of its kind and was broadcast live all over the globe.[4]
The Special Air Service is divided into two distinct parts:
22 Regiment Special Air Service, the regular regiment of the SAS, which is the unit associated with most well-known SAS operations.
Two Territorial Army units which are;
21 Regiment Special Air Service (Artists)
23 Regiment Special Air Service.
At the beginning of 1968, the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong orchestrated a major offensive against South Vietnam: the “Tet Offensive.” The North hoped it would prove to be America’s Dien Bien Phu, attempting to break the American public’s desire to continue the war. As propaganda, the Tet Offensive was successful in adding to the American protest of the Vietnam war. However, North Vietnam suffered tremendous casualties, and from a purely military standpoint, the Tet Offensive was a major disaster for the Communists.
By 1970, President Richard Nixon initiated a Plan of Vietnamization, which would remove the US from the Vietnam conflict and return the responsibility of defense back to the South Vietnamese. Conventional forces were being withdrawn; however, SEAL operations continued.
On 6 June 1972, Lt. Melvin S. Dry was killed entering the water after jumping from a helicopter at least 35 feet above the surface. Part of an aborted SDV operation to retrieve prisoners of war, Lt. Dry was the last Navy SEAL killed in the Vietnam War.[1]
In 2009, Navy SEAL snipers shot dead three Somali pirates simultaneously who previously hijacked the container ship MV Maersk Alabama.[2]
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) recruits operators from the SEAL teams into their Special Activities Division (SAD). [3] Joint SEAL and CIA operations go back to the MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War. [4
i watched the trailer and in my opinion soap looks like a ballbag. also im english so im going to have to say the sas are better. and if it wasnt for your god damn washington we would still control america and so the navy seals wouldnt exist.
