Am I the only one who thinks Treyarch sucks?
Sometimes I wonder if I’m in the minority when it comes to hating Treyarch. I haven’t been to a COD forum for sometime now, last time I was on one everyone had just found out Treyarch was making COD5 and they were expressing their disgust not only for Treyarch but for WW2 as well. It was pretty clear the community wanted another modern warfare, I wonder whos idea it was to basically say FU to the community and make another WW2 theme against the majority of our wishes?
You may be asking “what’s your beef with cod5?” Allow me to name a few of the things off…
- After updating the servers list, you have to actually close down the game and reload it otherwise you can’t enter a server because of the famous “server authentication error”. I can see having some bugs when the game first comes out, but the game has been out now for months and the browser is STILL broken. What kind of preschool company would allow such a huge bug to remain without patching it?
- The sound. I think no explanation is needed.
- Search & Destroy can’t determine the actual winner. Say you’re playing S&D to 7 and one team has 7 and the other has 0, if the losing team wins the final match they win the whole thing. Perhaps this is something that should have been fixed in the first patch? I mean no rush, just one of your game modes is completely broken, take your time Treyarch.
- Auto-climb was annoying in COD4 but it was just something everyone had to accept. In COD5 you CONSTANTLY find yourself getting hung up on stupid crap. For example sometimes you will be running through a field and all the sudden your forward movement stops and you’re trying to figure out what’s happening only to look down and see you’re “caught” on a little rock or stick. In COD4 this isn’t a problem because the game would simply let you walk over or around this small object.
I could go on but what’s the point? Treyarch doesn’t care because they’re too busy counting the money they made off of us. What about Activision? You think they will reward Treyarch with another COD title after this one? I would hope not. They should have never taken the rights away from IW to begin with. Why would you look at the huge sucess of COD4 and then turn around and give the next title dev rights to Treyarch after IW did such a good job?
I should say that it’s not ALL bad from Treyarch. They added the friends option which is cool. The prestige option like COD4 consoles had was cool until the power rank servers came out which totally ruined the whole idea. Other than those two thinks I can’t honestly say I like anything else about it. I’ve already become sick of COD5 and gone back to COD4. Bad part is I installed Windows 7 yesterday and found out that COD4 and Windows 7 don’t get along so I’m forced to play COD5. It’s actually Punkbuster that doesn’t work with Windows 7 but don’t even get me started on how worthless Punkbuster is, they’re worse than Treyarch.

He is right they do suck. I don’t like the idea of waiting a month and change to play map packs that everyone else is playing on consoles. I have patience but three times having to do that lost my patience.If call of duty5 is going to be the same then i will have to say screw them all together.

Uhm, Activision had Treyarch make a Call of Duty game so they could make more money off of their IP. They weren’t planning on it being better than COD4 at all. They were giving Infinity Ward time to make a new Modern Warfare title, and figured they could make more bank having Treyarch pretty much modify the COD4 engine.

Played the single player through and have now gone back to CoD4 for decent multi-player experience.
^^ Whether or not the server issue was decided by Activision or IW or not I don’t know, either way it was a frickin’ lame decision.
Call of Duty games in general suck (except the first one). Short singleplayer, lame story, and especially modern warfare with it’s “omg I love Americas” idiotism. I couldn’t care less for multiplayer aspect of CoD (since it’s just deathmatch where snipers own on all maps) and to be honest if a game tries to sell itself as a sp experience then it should have at least decent sp, and not something you could sweep in 5 hours or less. Also – no option for modding the game? Wtf, we’re back in 1991. or what?

You guys have no idea about games, both modern warfare and cod waw suck balls hard. Both are for 10 yo boys. Only game in the series that is worth your time and money was the original cod. That was an amazing game. That guy talking about cod2.. lol. Cod 2 only had dx9, no more, shitty gameplay, shitty health system. A piece of shit made a game, with some good moments yes but it doesnt make it a nice game. After watching and playing cod2 i didnt even care about cod3. Maybe if i knew it was from another developer i would try. Modern warfare… its just an ok game. ITs not nice at all. The weapons feel like toys. And you say about the mp40 or something? In MW you can do that with any weapon that is automatic.. so you can do it with almost every weapon ingame. And the recoil? the recoil in call of duty its a joke. When you play cod series in pc, except the first game, the weapon’s recoil its a joke. come on, recoil to the sides and then the weapon gets magically in the same place you were aiming?. THat is clear its made for a console.. COD series are just an arcade game and you guys put it as it was the best ever fps loool. Suckers go and play red orchestra and learn what a real game is. Both developers are mediocre at this moment. IF they were so great as you put them. they would just made a new awesome game, not copying the same crap over and over for morons like you can see here….now forget me and go to play your favourite cod….

Yes, WAW was garbage. Frag spamming utterly impossible on veteran. Thousands of hours required to do one section of the game (with no checkpoints of course, typical lazy Treyarch).

Why does everyone rave about modern warfare like its the best thing since sliced bread. theres no excitment to the multiplayer, just the same shit over and over. it would be half decent on LAN but online it just sucks. Running around killing people is all good for a while but after like an hour it just gets boring.
Cod 3 and 5 sucks Treyarch go to hell i dont buy cod this year and you should do the same wait for COD MW3
1st of all CoD 5’s multiplayer sucks. The only thing I should give credit for is the “Nazi Zombies” which isn’t even that great cause it gets boring. Now I prefer MW2 cause you get to customize your weapons, choose your streaks, etc… Which is pretty cool. For the MW2 multiplayer. It’s just like any other multiplayer. Team deathmatch: Go out run,kill,run,kill thats it. Don’t expecting fucking flying saucers or shit like that. Its a KILLING GAME. Nothing more to it. If you are expecting people doing retarded stuff or little kids yelling out cussing words trying to be cool. Go play halo 3. Now the shit that it takes for ever to rank up…” Please? Really? Just like in an hour you can rank up to level 20. It’s easy. You get 200xp just for assisting suicide. If you like FPS and just “killing” buy MW2. If you want some shit that the only fun thing is killing zombies buy Resident Evil 1 or CoD 5.

Not everything in CoD 5 is bad. If you like WW2 then the campaing is pretty good. Nothing out of this world but, it’s alright. Now the MW1 and MW2 campaings are nice not amazing either but nice. Btw Treyarch isn’t very good at making games. It’s only sucsses are CoD 5 and Quntinum Solence. Cause no one gives a shit about spider-man or some other crap that they made and Infinity Ward, stick to FPS games. Thats the only thing that they can do.
Mw2 is shit. it has the shortest campaign ive ever played and the levels arent that good. not to mention that everytime you get shot, blood pours onto the screen and u cant see where the fuck the enemy is so u die. simple as that. im not saying that treyarch is awesome either, but WAW was better for me because it had a clear storyline and was set in WW2 (which i love. the mw2 storyline is out of control. because its fictuous it means they can do watever they want and they have. which means that the storyline is blurry and most of the characters u play die. so mw2 was a dissapointment and im just looking forward to treyarchs vietnam cod coming out this year and hoping that itll be good

IW is better but cod in general is shit, its unrealistic with whiny little 12 year old kids screaming over a lossed killstreak. Shootingwise id say that battlefield is probably better, but thats my poinion and you dont have to agree on it and thats cool
I agree completely, not only on the multiplayer level, but it is a far worse game on the single player. Treyarch really displayed how worthless they truly are by creating infinite spawn, and grenade rain, and stamping “Veteran” on it. I am on the mission “Heart of The Reich” and have been stuck in one spot, for 3 days. This my friends, is because of Unlimited Germans, with more grenades than bullets. Fuck Treyarch, I will unfortunately buy Call of Duty: Black Ops, just in hopes that they have learned from their mistakes.
