Mike Griffith, the publishing CEO of Activision said that they have goals for all of their titles. He said that they fully expect this new series of Call of Duty to be one of the largest title in the gaming industry this year.

Griffith further said, “When you look at whenModern Warfare 1 was launched in 2007, it had a substantial jump in consumers engaged in the Call of Duty franchise. World at War, which was launched in Holiday 2008, saw that more than a fifth of its purchasers were first time users of the Call of Duty franchise. So all those new purchasers are ready for theModern Warfare 2 experience because they haven’t historically been in the franchise.”

Video of demo at E3 in Los Angeles

June 7th, 2009

There were lots of questions raised as to why the term Call of Duty is not used in Modern Warfare 2 because it is the sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Robert Bowling, the community manager has given an explanation to this decision of the Infinity Ward.

Robert Bowling recently said to MTV that the game is called only Modern Warfare 2 because they want to emphasize on the fact that Modern Warfare is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. He said, “This has never happened inCall of Duty before. They’re typically their own campaigns and totally unrelated to the previous one. This one, is indeed a direct sequel and we just want to make that clear.”

The flipside to the Modern Warfare 2 title is that folks may not know that it is still essentially a CoD game.

Well! The demo of the game at E3 conference in Los Angeles was pulse pounding. It was awesome. Here is a video of the demo.

Demo of MW2 was pulse pounding

June 3rd, 2009

Gamers would have loved to be at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on the occasion of E3 conference. But all were not fortunate to watch the demo of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2. The domo of the game was awesome. The graphics were unbelievable. In fact everything was pulse pounding thrills.

The demo of Modern Warfare 2 opened up with a precarious climb up icy cliffs. It was just like a prelude to an assault on a snowy mountain encampment. The graphics of the game are definitely more than what was expected. It did a good job of conveying a sense of danger and being trapped in the snow.

It was noticed that once the demo of the game got into the action, the hazy snow atmosphere in the game gave a nice fog of war. There could be seen a great way to sneak up on enemies out of the haze and also to pop them for one shot kills.

It was also seen that the lethality against the enemies remained high with most of the enemies falling from one to two shots only. The muffled rifle sound in the game seemed to be very real.

There were also some wild action movie style combats having absurd levels of action. The demo of the game was short but it had left an impression of that may November 10 come soon.

It will be like one of its seemingly impossible missions. Gamers, as an elite combat specialist, follow the task force leader Captain “Soap” MacTavish. He climb a sheer ice floe in Kazakhstan.

We will get the sound of the crunch as the ice ax and crampons penetrate the frozen cliff face. Gamers will attempt a death-defying leap a gap in a cliff ledge and at the moment when it looks as if gamers has fallen, McTavish grabs on and pulls to safety.

On the way gamers also join in Black Hawk Down-style urban fight in Rio de Janeiro. Even in infiltration of an Afghanistan cave camp and also wage underwater battles.

Its interesting. Right? All these leads to an enemy outpost where gamers are triggered with outmanned and outgunned diversionary explosions and they escape in a snowmobile chase rivaling the forest speeder-bike.
